🌿 What makes the ingredients a more eco-conscious choice?

Sodium carbonate (washing soda)

A mineral-based alkaline cleaner that helps soften water and break down grease and food residue. It is a relatively simple inorganic compound rather than a petroleum-derived solvent.

Lauryl/Myristyl glucoside

This is one of the more interesting ingredients environmentally. It's a plant-derived surfactant made from fatty alcohols and glucose. Surfactants help lift oils and food particles from dishes so they can be rinsed away. Alkyl glucosides are generally readily biodegradable.

Sodium coco-sulfate

A surfactant derived from coconut-based fatty alcohols. It helps loosen oils and food residue. Using a plant-derived surfactant is an alternative to some conventional petroleum-derived cleaning ingredients.

Sodium citrate

A citrate salt that helps soften water and improves the effectiveness of the other cleaning ingredients. Citrates are readily biodegradable and are commonly used as an alternative to phosphate-based water softeners.

Sodium carbonate peroxide (sodium percarbonate)

This is essentially an oxygen-based cleaning ingredient. When dissolved in water, it releases hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate. The oxygen helps break down organic stains and brighten dishes without relying on chlorine bleach.

Protease + lipase enzymes 🧬

These are particularly useful from a cleaning standpoint. Protease breaks down protein-based food residues, while lipase breaks down fats and oils. Enzymes allow the detergent to target specific types of food residue rather than simply relying on stronger chemical cleaning agents.

Cellulose gum / trisodium dicarboxymethyl cellulose

These are cellulose-based ingredients used to help the tablet perform properly and keep soil from redepositing onto dishes. Cellulose is derived from plant material.

Sodium silicate & sodium metasilicate

Mineral-based builders that help control water hardness and improve cleaning performance. They also help protect the dishwasher and surfaces from the effects of hard water.

Sodium chloride & sodium sulfate

These are simple inorganic salts used primarily for formulation and processing rather than being the main cleaning agents.

They will leave your dishes sparkling clean while you get to be a little more green.
